NYCBS Welcomes Oncologist, Dr. Li-Teh Wu

PORT JEFFERSON STATION, N.Y. (NOVEMBER 20, 2019)

New York Cancer & Blood Specialists (NYCBS) is pleased to announce that Li-Teh Wu, MD, a board-certified oncologist, has joined the practice. He will be working at our Bayside and Elmhurst, Queens, offices; both minutes from the Long Island Expressway.

Dr. Wu was eager to join NYCBS because of his desire to provide superior patient care. The fact that NYCBS is one of the fastest-growing cancer treatment centers in New York, with three new locations opened this past year was an enticement. “With its resources, we can offer our patients easily accessible, comprehensive, and friendly cancer care,” Dr. Wu said.

Growing up in Taipei, Taiwan, where he earned his medical degree from the National Taiwan University, Dr. Wu did not know what to envision about practicing medicine. “I did not have a detailed idea about what the medical profession was about when I entered medical school. To be honest, it just sounded like a noble job. I was fascinated with science in school,” Dr. Wu said. “However, over the years, I have truly been humbled in realizing my profession also combines humanity, science, and the arts.”

Throughout his education, Dr. Wu has always strived for the best. He graduated with his Bachelor’s degree in Molecular Biology from Cornell University. After earning his medical degree, he completed his residency at Cabrini Medical Center and fellowship at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York.

Prior to joining NYCBS, Dr. Wu was a partner at Park-Wu Oncology Associates in Manhattan. Additionally, he served as an attending professor at SUNY Downstate’s hematology-oncology fellowship program, and an assistant professor at Mount Sinai’s Division of neoplastic diseases.

Dr. Wu has been practicing oncology for more than 20 years. He is fluent in both Chinese and English and is familiar with the many varied Queens neighborhoods.

When it comes to practicing oncology, Dr. Wu has a positive outlook. “Humanity has been gaining strength over the years since my residency,” said Dr. Wu. “Together, we will continue this fight.”
