Dr. Burns earned her medical degree at New York Medical College and completed her Residency in Internal Medicine at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx, New York. She trained in Hematology and Medical Oncology at Stony Brook University Hospital and has been Board-Certified in Internal Medicine, Hematology, and Medical Oncology since the early 1990's.
Dr. Burns has been in private practice in Suffolk County for over 20 years and is affiliated with, and makes hospital rounds at, John T. Mather Memorial Hospital, St. Charles Hospital, and St. Catherine of Siena Medical Center.
